Dear Mr. Hinkie,
My name is Brooke Wesson. I took your GuitarMasters classes (beginner and intermediate) back in 1996 when I was 16 years old. The purpose for me taking the class was to be able to play my guitar for worship during my quiet times with God. Well, I learned how to do that and so much more in your class. I remember wanting to give up the first week because my fingers hurt so bad (ha ha!), but because the group had made a commitment to one another, I stuck it out and learned all that I could in your class. But my ability to play the guitar has led me from simple worship to God in my times of devotion, to leading worship in my local church, on the mission field, at my Bible college, at services in the local Salvation Army and a lot more.
I have wanted to tell you about this for some time, because every time I'm asked how long I've played I always tell people about the wonderful group lessons I was able to be a part of with your classes. I've used my manual as a teaching resource for the many teens in my youth group that I disciple and teach guitar. The knowledge I gained in your class has been invaluable and has been instrumental (pun intended) in making me aware of just some of the calling God has on my life: a leader of worship in this generation. I've taught six people how to play the guitar, and three of those young people are either worship leaders, or in a worship band. It's exciting thing to see the ripple effects worship and the love of the guitar has on lives.
Blessings,
Brooke Wesson
